Most customers who call us have never bought a rolling shutter before. A common question is: what actually happens between calling you and having a working shutter? Here is the complete process from our end — and what you need to prepare on yours.
Step 1: Free Site Visit (Day 1)
Our engineer visits your property to:
- Measure the opening precisely (width, height, depth of reveal)
- Assess the lintel, guide rail fixing points, and wall material
- Check electrical points for motorized shutters
- Understand how many times per day the shutter will be operated
- Recommend the right product for your use case and budget
This takes 20–40 minutes. You receive a written quote within 2 hours of the visit.
Step 2: Quotation and Confirmation
The quote specifies: shutter dimensions, material and slat thickness, operation type, finish, motor brand (if motorized), all accessories (lock, wicket door if required), and installation. 50% advance confirms the order and triggers fabrication.
Step 3: Fabrication (Day 2–3)
All our shutters are fabricated in our in-house workshop in Uttam Nagar, New Delhi. Custom dimensions, colours, and special profiles are cut and assembled here — not sourced as off-the-shelf units. For standard aluminium or galvalume shutters, fabrication takes 24–48 hours.
Step 4: Installation (Day 2–4, after fabrication)
Installation for a standard shutter takes 3–5 hours on-site. The sequence:
- Fix guide rails (Z-channels) into the wall using anchor bolts into masonry
- Install spring housing and drum assembly above the opening
- Load the curtain and attach to the drum
- Tension the spring to balance the curtain weight
- Fit the bottom profile and lock mechanism
- For motorized: wire motor to switch and/or receiver, calibrate limit switches
- Final operation test: open and close 10+ times to verify smooth operation
Step 5: Handover
Our engineer demonstrates operation (manual override for motorized shutters), hands over keys and remotes, and explains the maintenance schedule. We leave your site clean — all drilling debris and off-cuts removed.
What You Need to Prepare
- Clear the area around the opening (1 metre either side, and above)
- For motorized shutters: confirm a power socket is available within 2 metres of the motor position
- If replacing an old shutter: decide whether to keep or remove the existing guide rails (reusing old rails saves cost if they are in good condition)
How Long Does It Take in Total?
For standard residential or commercial shutters in Delhi NCR: site visit to installation completion is typically 24–48 hours. For large industrial shutters or custom specifications, allow 3–5 working days. Book your free site visit →
